Tuesday news

Here's what's up this morning:

The news is not good for Clint Sellers and Eastern Illinois, according to the (Charleston, Ill.) Journal Gazette/Times-Courier. The Star linebacker suffered "an injury to the brachial plexus bundle in his right shoulder" making a tackle on the opening kickoff against Illinois Saturday. The paper says Sellers will miss at least this Saturday's game against Indiana State and is listed as out indefinitely.

The Murray (Ky.) Ledger finally checks in after the long holiday weekend with a story on Murray State's loss to Missouri Saturday.

I missed Mike Organ's column Sunday in The (Nashville) Tennesean. He notes that attendance at this year's John Merritt classic was way down for Tennessee State, with 19,487 in the stands. Just over 25,000 showed up each of the last two years to see the Tigers face the same opponent, Alabama A&M. It's worth noting, I think, that the lower number this year still will rank among the best-attended home games in the OVC.
