Tuesday morning papers
Here's the ink on the OVC this morning. Jax State makes a hire, EKU gets busy honoring its own, the Lexington paper tips its hat to the OVC's two Kentucky teams, and more.
The Anniston Star says former Ole Miss assistant coach Thomas Woods will take over as Jacksonville State's quarterbacks coch, coming in after Montressa Kirby left for Tuskegee. Thomas played at Tennessee from 1985-89 and also has coached at Appalachian State and Western Carolina. He's apparently been out of coaching for awhile, and was looking to get back into the game.
The Lexington Herald-Leader lists 10 things football fans in Kentucky can look forward to in 2006. On the list are an expected good year from Eastern Kentucky and improvement from Murray State.
The Richmond Register announces the inaugural class for EKU's Athletics Hall of Fame (they didn't already have one?). There's a release from the school here.
And Southeast Missourian columnist Marty Mishow says he was surprised that SEMO was picked to finish last by the leagues coaches and sports information directors at media a week ago.
